Learn to make this unique book and box combination in this one-day workshop. Expand your box-making skills, beyond the rectangle, as you create this exquisite hexagonal box. The paper-covered box features hinges and a button-tie closure. You’ll also create a beautiful star book with magnets embedded in the covers to hold it open. This star book makes the perfect showcase for some of your favorite photos, poems or small ephemera. As we are learning these structures, we’ll talk about techniques to make them in other sizes and to support your own ideas. You’ll leave class with a finished book and box as well as illustrated step-by-step instructions so you can create it again at home.
