In Case You Missed It . . .
As part of SDBA's Book Arts Basics series of workshops, Judy Christensen recently shared an accordion book project. Book Arts Basics offers affordable 3-hour classes taught by SDBA members that feature a simple book structure and foundational skills. A bonus is that participants always go home with a completed work of art.
SDBA was fortunate to welcome Peter Sowiski for a 3-day workshop on pulp, pigment and perception. What an incredibly wonderful three days of experience, intelligence, sensitivity, and awareness. We had a full and busy house as we experimented with colors and textures. Thanks to Nancy Kazanjian and Anne Covell for their assistance throughout the workshop.
Recent workshops, Earth Notes and Stamped Nature Bound, by book artist Leslie Marsh provided participants with the opportunity to make unique and beautiful books while acquiring new skills.
San Diego Book Artists had a great time making paper with Anne Covell recently. Everyone went home with armfuls of creations and new understandings of handmade paper. We learned from one another and had the grand opportunity of christening Anne’s new paper making studio right here in La Mesa.
